Let the Ride Begin!

Last week, the staff at Accounting for All took some time out to do a little bobsledding up in the Adirondacks. With the 2015 tax season about to begin in earnest, we figured it was a good idea to go have a little fun before our noses were stuck to the grindstone even harder than usual.

But of course we talked a little business while we were at it, and in the process we realized how much a bobsled run and tax season have in common — well, for accountants, at least. Just like on a bobsled run, tax season means a lot of bumpy twists and turns as you pick up speed and gain momentum, with plenty of tense moments along the way. But in the end there’s a safe landing, and smiles all around.

Our weekend trip to Winter Wonderland!

Our weekend trip to Winter Wonderland!

We’ve been at it long enough — and thanks to our clients, with enough success — to know what to expect and how to handle it. We feel we’ve gotten better at our job every year, and we’re confident we’ve demonstrated a greater knowledge of our work and a deeper understanding of our clients’ needs each successive tax season. That hasn’t stopped us from deciding to up our game, though.

One manifestation of that commitment to constant improvement is our redesigned website. We haven’t made a lot of radical changes; our goal was to build on what we already had, which was already pretty good. But we wanted to make it a little easier to navigate and a little more up to date, and we wanted to add this blog as a means of communicating better with both existing and future clients. We plan to use it mostly as a means of passing along general tips and advice to you, which you in turn can easily share with others. We’ll be talking about the firm from time to time, too.

We also wanted a means to quickly inform you of potential changes in your tax liability, whether because of the Affordable Care Act or tax reform or little-known provisions already in place which are about to come into effect, or some other occurrence. And we upgraded the website itself to have a little more flexibility so we can add even more useful tools for you as we refine it; we’d like it to be a resource to help you get the information you need in order to make the process of handling your accounting needs more efficient all around.

All of this is by way of smoothing out some of the twists and turns, and trying to make the acceleration down the course just a little steadier. As anyone in a deadline-driven business can attest, it’s bound to get a little wild from time to time no matter what you do. But we expect the website upgrade and redesign to be just one of several steps we plan on taking to leave the thrills in and keep the spills out. We’ll keep you fully informed as we go.

As always, we’d be remiss if we didn’t take a second out to thank our clients. We had a tremendous 2014 and expect 2015 to be even better, thanks to them. And as a business built almost entirely on referrals, our success has at least as much to do with their confidence in us as theirs has to do with our expertise and advice. Each relationship has been a fruitful and mutually beneficial partnership, and we are, if anything, even more committed to the success of our clients than ever. We wish each of them a happy, healthy and prosperous year, and we pledge to do our very best to help their businesses — and their lives — thrive.

For those of you who may already be considering becoming new clients, please take a minute to check out the different sections of our website to get a better idea of what we do. If you’re a small- or medium-sized business (especially one with an entrepreneurial streak) we think we can help, and we look forward to hearing from you.

With that, it’s time to pull down the goggles … and GO!

Accounting for All, CPAs is dedicated to providing small- and medium-sized businesses and their entrepreneurial owners with leadership and guidance from a Certified Public Accountant’s perspective.
